Introduction High school includes the 9th through the 12th grade. There are two diploma options for high school students including a College Prep diploma and a General Diploma. The high school curriculum and our graduation requirements are directed toward meeting the college entrance requirements of New Mexico institutions of higher education and New Mexico minimum requirements for high school graduation. In addition, TBA incorporates entrance requirements as published by Christian and other colleges throughout the Southwest and the United States. The Graduation Requirements for both the College Prep and General Diplomas are listed in the Graduation Requirements section. TBA graduates have successfully applied for admission to a wide range of secular and Bible colleges throughout the U.S over our 33 year history. Through the combination of challenging academic courses, inter-scholastic activities, athletic programs, chapel services, family activities and community service projects, the TBA community strives to develop meaningful relationships built on respect and a shared sense of Christian responsibility among the members of the TBA community.

Curriculum Overview TBA’s high school curriculum embraces a comprehensive selection of core courses with electives in a variety of areas. Our curriculum relies on texts and related educational materials from such publishers as Bob Jones, ACSI, Positive Action for Christ, Glencoe and other appropriate supplemental materials. In addition, TBA subscribes to the Alpha Omega Online curriculum for Christian Schools known as Switched On Online (SOO). SOO enables TBA students to access several more elective offerings than might otherwise be offered. TBA employs a five year curriculum evaluation cycle. Each year, at least one core subject area and one elective area are under evaluation by a faculty team. Recommendations are reviewed by the Administration and School Board prior to implementation.

Homework Homework is a critical part of the education process and is given for the purposes of drill, practice and remedial instruction. Teachers are expected to ensure that all homework is meaningful and appropriate. While there are no set limits on the time that homework might require, the following is provided for students, teachers and parents to use as a guide:
9 – 12th 120 – 210 minutes
In consideration of families who attend mid-week worship services, TBA will generally not assign homework on Wednesday nights in the elementary grades. Junior high students may be assigned limited homework (completion of work begun in class, assignments and quizzes posted several days in advance, make-up work, etc.). Because time management is an important life skill for every Christian worker, homework at the high school level may be assigned at the discretion of the teacher.
Any concerns regarding excessive homework should be directed to the appropriate teacher. If a problem develops and parents cannot resolve the issue with the teacher, then the administration will become involved. Participation in athletics is not an excuse for a student athlete not to complete homework assignments.
